Matt Hendry has over 10 years of construction management experience overseeing a variety of projects, including ground-up core and shell buildings, Class A office tenant improvements, building repositioning and value-add, downtown high rise unique office build-outs, medical/dental office tenant improvements, multi-family residential and hospitality remodels. He is a licensed General Engineering and General Contractor in the State of California and holds a LEED AP BD+C Accreditation.

Matt’s role as a project manager has spanned working locally for a Southern California General Contractor to working for a national Construction Management firm. Matt has participated in more than 75 projects valued in excess of $275 million while working for both local and national brands such as Renovate America, LPL Financial, Tribune Publishing, 24 Hour Fitness, Tilted Kilt and various law firms.

Matt has expertise in all facets of project management, including pre-construction activities, procurement, permitting, estimating, contract negotiation, budgeting, contract reconciliation and decommissioning and relocation. Matt specializes in high-level organization, efficient communication and day-to-day project management operations.

Matt’s most recent projects include the 160,000-ft.² office T.I. and 10,000-ft.², ground-up Café/Amenity building for Renovate America, an $8 million, 20,000- ft.², ground-up facility for Congregation Beth Am in Carmel Valley and a $35 million renovation of the old Union Tribune Office & Press buildings in Mission Valley for Casey Brown Company.
During the initial stages of a project, Matt’s scope of services includes due diligence, scheduling, budgeting, design team selection, design management, value engineering, estimating, constructability review, entitlements and permitting. Once design and permitting are complete, Matt then handles bidding and management of the construction process, including construction observation, change order review, budget management, document control, schedule monitoring and recovery planning, FF&E installation management and occupancy.

Matt graduated from The University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Cum Laude. He is an active member with the US Green Building Council and NAIOP. Matt and his wife, Amy, live in Serra Mesa and have two young children.

Matt enjoys fishing, sporting events, golfing and spending time with friends and family.
