SERVICES PROVIDED
Here’s How We Did It
Gilliland Construction Management provided full project management services, including management of the design, GC selection, permitting, bidding and construction process. The project was located in Normal Heights, in a prominent area of Adams Ave. The project encompassed the historic restoration and structural upgrade of a two-story, URM brick building with commercial tenants on the ground floor and nine residential units on the second floor. The scope of work included replacement of all exterior windows with historically relevant wood windows; removal, cleaning and replacement/re-grouting of exterior brick; and structural integration of wall anchors and tie rods to stabilize the building. Seven existing, south-elevation steel columns were permanently shored up with new steel columns welded in place prior to replacement of the brick at the south elevation
