Gilliland CM has begun working with a client for the construction of a 250,000 SF cold storage facility in Otay Mesa. The tilt up building will be the future home of a cold storage facility serving the Otay Mesa region with cross border connections to Mexico. The site work has been underway since May of this year and the project is slated for completion by April 2022. Due to the lack of storm water infrastructure in the Otay Mesa area, the building pad and site need to be raised approx. 5ft across the site. This has resulted in the import of more than 80,000 cubic yards of dirt.
